dited by: from www.bride-dresses.org  6-21-2011 3:16:21

Would you pay $4.6 million dollars for this dress? No? Well someone did, buying Marilyn Monroe's iconic 'Subway Dress,' made famous by that cheeky scene in The Seven Year Itch. It was expected to go under the hammer for close to $2 million, but the final bid was more than double that! Owner Debbie Reynolds auctioned off her collection of Hollywood fashion memorabilia in LA over the weekend; including Judy Garland's Wizard of Oz dress and ruby slippers which sold for $1.75 million USD, Charlie Chaplin's bowler hat, and a dress worn by Elizabeth Taylor in National Velvet. We hope that these priceless pieces went to a good home, coz that is some serious fashion history being sold.
