J Brand Goes Beyond Jeans and Jumps Into Sportswear
We love our J Brand jeans just as much as any other girl and soon there will be more reason to shop the line, with the news that in 2012, filled with leather jackets, tops, pants, and skirts. The line will be headed by new design director, Donald Oliver, whose past accolades come from DKNY Jeans, Vera Wang, Gap and Calvin Klein. “From day one, we wanted her [the customer] to be easygoing, uncomplicated, subtly sophisticated," said Oliver. "We wanted her to feel relevant, not trendy, not like she’s trying too hard, which is why I think the garments have an ease about them.” Prices are set to range from $200 and $1,500 and, from what we've seen, includes a modern and minimal palette of cool leather jackets, tops, and skirts. Additionally, J Brand noted that it has plans to launch shoes and handbags in 2013 and a menswear line in the next 18 months. Check out more pieces from the news sportswear collection!
